Girl Scouts have been selling cookies for over a century to fund their troop activities and the team at FARO has enjoyed eating our fair share of them. There’s just nothing like finding a box of Thin Mints in the back of your freezer after a long day at work. FARO knew that while California had been experiencing a severe drought and multiple wildfires, there were many people having much longer- and more dangerous- days than ours.
We wanted them to know people appreciated it.
FARO is always looking for different ways we can support our CalFire firefighters, so when we had the opportunity to give back in a way that simultaneously helped girls in our community learn STEM skills, we jumped at the chance. This chance came in the form of hundreds of boxes of Girl Scout cookies being donated to the brave individuals risking their lives to protect our state.
We were more than satisfied with knowing we contributed to a few responders having a chance to smile after a difficult day battling flames, so we were especially heart warmed to know that the proceeds of our gifts were going towards building strong, confident, and capable young women.
Girl Scouts continues to do an excellent job at developing good people who provide positive influences in our community and FARO is proud to use them as a resource during our own acts of kindness.
